At a time when the expression ‘work in progress’ has become commonplace in the artistic field, giving the work an evolutionary character and thus legitimising subsequent changes that the author sees fit to introduce, perhaps adapting it to different contexts, the images in this exhibition, on the contrary, are definitive records of moments in a work that was in progress at the time – the restoration of the very building where the images are displayed. Intentionally collected over several months, they show surfaces that have been radically altered, erasing forever the marks that time has written in the course of its inexorable journey...
